1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Society मित्र at www.societymitr.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the platform.

2. Platform Description

Society मित्र is a digital management platform for Indian Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs). It provides tools for billing, complaints, governance, visitor management, community commerce, and related functions. The platform is offered free to RWAs and funded through advertising from local businesses.

3. User Eligibility

• Users must be residents, owners, tenants, or authorised staff of an onboarded RWA society.
• Users must be 18 years of age or older.
• Account activation is by invitation from an RWA administrator only.

4. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You agree not to post false, defamatory, or harmful content in forums or community spaces.
• You agree not to use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of RWA bye-laws.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of any products, prices, or descriptions you list in the Society Marketplace.

5. Marketplace & Payments

The Society Marketplace allows residents to buy and sell products and services within their society. Transactions between buyers and sellers are peer-to-peer (typically via UPI). Society मित्र does not take a commission and is not a party to any transaction. Disputes regarding marketplace transactions are between the buyer and seller directly.

Maintenance bill payments processed through the platform are governed by your RWA's payment policies. Society मित्र facilitates the transaction but does not hold funds.

6. Advertising

The platform displays advertisements from local businesses to residents. Advertisers are subject to our Advertising Guidelines. Society मित्र is not responsible for the goods or services offered by advertisers.

7. Intellectual Property

All platform content, design, and code is the intellectual property of Society मित्र. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written consent. Content you upload (photos, documents) remains your property, with a limited licence granted to us to display it within the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

Society मित्र is provided "as is". We make no warranties regarding uptime or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by Indian law, our liability for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to ₹0 (the platform being free). We are not liable for disputes between residents, buyers and sellers, or between residents and their RWA.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. RWAs may request removal of their society from the platform at any time by contacting us.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in India.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
