Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Platform Usage — No Charges to Residents or RWAs

Society मित्र is a free platform for Resident Welfare Associations and their residents. There are no subscription fees, no setup fees, and no charges for using any feature of the platform. Accordingly, there is nothing to refund for platform usage.

2. Maintenance Bill Payments

Maintenance payments made through the platform are collected on behalf of your RWA society. These are governed by your society's own financial policies.

  • Successful payments: Once a maintenance bill payment is confirmed by the payment gateway and marked as paid in the system, it is credited to your RWA. Refunds of maintenance payments, if applicable, must be requested from and approved by your RWA committee — not from Society मित्र.
  • Failed payments: If a payment is debited from your bank/wallet but not confirmed in the system within 5 business days, please contact your RWA admin or reach us at support@societymitr.com. Failed payments are auto-reversed by the payment gateway within 5–7 business days.
  • Duplicate payments: If you have been charged twice for the same bill, contact us immediately. We will investigate and coordinate with the payment gateway for reversal within 7–10 business days.

3. Society Marketplace Transactions

The Society Marketplace allows residents to sell products and services directly to fellow residents. These are peer-to-peer transactions:

  • Society मित्र does not process or hold payment for marketplace transactions.
  • Payments between buyers and sellers happen directly (e.g., UPI, cash).
  • Refunds or cancellations for marketplace purchases are the responsibility of the individual seller.
  • Society मित्र is not liable for product quality, delivery, or disputes arising from marketplace transactions.

4. Advertiser Subscriptions

Local businesses that subscribe to advertise on the platform are subject to the following:

  • Advertising fees paid are non-refundable once an ad campaign has been activated and displayed.
  • If an ad is rejected for policy violation before going live, the payment will be refunded within 7 business days.
  • Cancellation of an active campaign does not entitle the advertiser to a pro-rata refund.

5. How to Raise a Refund Request

Please include your registered mobile number, society name, transaction date, and amount.

We aim to respond to all refund queries within 2 business days.

6. Cancellation of Account

Residents may request account deactivation by contacting their RWA administrator. RWAs wishing to leave the platform may contact us at the email above. Data deletion requests will be processed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
